MOBILE - The Alabama State volleyball team opened the season with mixed results in the Spring Hill Invitational Friday.

The Lady Hornets stormed back from a 2-0 deficit to force a tie-breaking fifth set, but ultimately fell, 20-25, 23-25, 25-19, 25-22, 14-16.

Alabama State rebounded in resounding fashion by sweeping past Texas College, 25-13, 25-19, 25-15.

ASU (1-1) play host Spring Hill in the finale of the invitational 11 a.m. Saturday.
