SOCCER DROPS 2-0 DECISION TO MCNEESE STATE
LAKE CHARLES, La. - McNeese State scored a pair of goals in each period on Friday night as the Cowgirl soccer team handed Grambling State a 2-0 loss during the opener of the McNeese State Invitational.
McNeese scored its first goal at the 27th minute when Mayra Torres scored off a corner kick from Kamryn Koch for a 1-0 margin. Twenty-minutes into the next period, McNeese struck again when Koch scored on an assist from Audrey LaLanne.
Unlike last weekend at Auburn, Grambling did a much better job on the offensive end as the Lady Tigers managed to record nine shots as Whitney Weddington led the way with three shots followed by two from Ashley Baker.
The Lady Tigers were scheduled to play on Sunday versus Lamar but the contest was canceled due to possible ramifications from Hurricane Gustav.
