Lady Bison Come Up Short in Final Day of ECU Pirate Classic

GREENVILLE, N.C. -
The Lady Bison concluded the East Carolina Pirate Classic with an
0-2 mark on the final day of competition. Howard fell 3-0 to the
host Pirates and later dropped a 3-0 decision to East Tennessee
State.
Sophomore Gazelle d’Artois (Newhall,
Calif./Hart H.S.) contributed eight kills
and six digs versus East Tennessee State.
Senior Elyssa Lee (Media, Pa./Mo. State West
Plains) chipped in five kills while Grace
DeMichelis (Aurora, Colo./Overland H.S.) and
Keri Partridge (Chattanooga, Tenn./Notre Dame
H.S.) added three kills each. DeMichelis finished with a
match-high 16 set-assists.
Lauren Baufield’s 10 kills led ETSU. Jen Neice dug out a
match-high 14 balls.
Lee and d’Artois each finished with a team-high six
kills against ECU. Lee also added eight digs on the
defensive end while DeMichelis had a match-high 17 assists.
Katie Prast had 12 kills for the Pirates. Trish
Monroe added 11 digs while Hannah Fenker finished with 16
assists.
Howard (0-3) returns to action
this Tuesday, Sept. 2 when it hosts UMBC at 7pm.
