Howard Football to Participate in "Take a Kid to the Game" Program
WASHINGTON, D.C.
- Howard University invites all area
children to attend their upcoming football game this Saturday,
Sept. 6, against Georgetown University.
Children have the opportunity to experience a college football game
as the Bison will host NCAA Football’s eleventh annual “Take A Kid
to the Game” (TAKG) program. Kids (ages fourteen and younger)
will receive a free or discounted ticket with the purchase of a
full-priced adult ticket to watch the Bison battle the Hoyas at
Greene Stadium at 1pm, the first-ever meeting between the
cross-town rivals.
Howard University is one of more
than 200 schools across the nation hosting a game in this campaign.
“We encourage you to save the
date,” said Dwight Datcher, athletics director at Howard. “Howard
University is excited about this event where kids from the
community will have a chance to be apart of our game day experience
and support NCAA Football’s Take A Kid to the GameÒ program.
This game day experience is an opportunity for children to spend
quality time with a parent or role model and learn about
sportsmanship that can be demonstrated on the playing field.”
Tickets for this special game are
now available and can be purchased at the Cramton Box Office on the
campus of Howard University or through ticketmaster.com. For
more information, contact Cramton at (202) 806-7198/7199. Reduced
ticket prices for children aged 14 and under event are
$7.50.
The Take A Kid to the Game program
is one of the national promotions of NCAA Football, the marketing
arm of college football. The grassroots program is designed
to encourage adults to take kids to an NCAA athletic event and
experience game-day at an affordable price.
