VIDALIA, GA - Sophomore Monique Sylvester (Courtice, ONT/Delaware State) scored the only Alabama State goal as the Hornets fell to Brewton-Parker Monday, 7-1.

Sylvester tallied the lone marker in the 44th minute off a corner kick from senior Maiya Moore (Vancouver, B.C. Canada/Howe Sand Secondary).

Brewton-Parker seized control of the contest with four first-half goals before ASU hit the scoreboard.

Junior Chelsea Nash (Tifton, GA/Tifton County) - making her first start in an ASU uniform - took the loss, tallying 11 saves.

Alabama State (0-2) will return to action Friday with a non-conference contest at Birmingham-Southern. The game is slated to start at 5 p.m.
