Campbell playing vital role

Week in and week out, it always the players that perform on gameday that get the attention and the accolades. However, it’s senior receiver Khambrel Campbell (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) that could deserve most of the accolades this week.

Campbell has played the role of McKinsin Souverain, the Bethune Cookman quarterback, and has run the Wildcats’ option attack on the offense scout team.

“He was able to do some things yesterday (Tuesday) throwing the ball,” said head coach Reggie Barlow.

Barlow added the importance of watching film and understanding your assignments when trying to slow down an option offense.

NOTES: Barlow announced the following players earned ASU Player of the Week honors for the Florida A&M game: Redshirt senior Antonio Hill (Dothan, AL/Northview), offensive; senior John Hogan (Tallahassee, FL/Lincoln), defensive; sophomore Joel Raggins (St. Augustine, FL/Bartram Trail), special teams; and freshman Phil Daru (Ft. Lauderdale, FL/Deerfield Beach) along with redshirt freshman Devin Dominquez (Ft. Wayne, IN/Paul Hardin); co-scout team.
