2008 HU SOFTBALL TRY-OUTS
Hampton University Lady Pirates Softball team has announced open try-outs to all HU students who are enrolled. The try-outs will be held on Saturday, September 13 at 10:00 am and on Sunday, September 14 at 1:00 pm. You must be present on both days if you have plans of making the team.

BLACK COLLEGE SOFTBAL TOURNEY SET FOR CONYERS, GEORGIA
ITTA BENA, MS – Teams from 13 Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU’s) representing the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC), Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) will participate in the Tiny Laster 2nd Annual Fast-pitch Softball tournament.
The two-day event, named in honor of Hampton University’s legendary softball and volleyball coach, will be held in Conyers on the weekend of February 7-8, at Earl O’Neal Sports Complex 2709 Old Covington Road Conyers, GA 30012
Teams will include, the five-time SWAC Champion Lady Devilettes of Mississippi Valley State University and conference rivals Alabama A&M University, Alcorn State University, Grambling State University, and Jackson State University. Perennial MEAC powers Florida A&M University, Hampton University, Howard University, Morgan State University, North Carolina A&T University, South Carolina State University and Winston Salem State will also make their presence known.
Tournament Coordinator Earnest “Trey” Washington expressed his excitement over the growth of the tournament’s team participation as well as the opportunity for the conferences to face one another on such a grand stage, during the opening period of the 2009 season.
