Preseason Over, Delta Devils Set Sights on Steers
Itta Bena, Miss.— As preseason camp draws to an end the Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils football team have turned their attention to the Steers of Texas College. After two weeks of conditioning in the unforgiving delta heat the Delta Devils will finally have a chance to release their frustration when the host the Steers for their home and season opener August 30th.
€œThe most important thing is we finished up preseason in pretty good shape. We€™re pretty healthy, I feel real good about that€?, said head coach Willie Totten. €œThe focus is now on the season. We still have some young people, right now we€™re concentrating on making sure they know what they€™re doing.€?
Though bothered with a few minor injuries the Deltas Devil€™s will welcome the return of several key players including ,preseason second team All-SWAC pick, Clarence Cotten (WR/PR), Kevin Golden (LB) and Paul Roberts (QB).
€œThis preseason we have so many new faces. We have guys in here who really want to learn and do the things we ask.€? Totten added, €œWe just really feel good coming out of this preseason camp.€?
