PRINCESS ANNE, Md. - Jamahl Strachan dreamed of becoming a lawyer and someday pursuing a career in politics while growing up in Nassau, Bahamas.

He had no idea how close a summer internship would move him to realizing that dream.

The 20-year-old University of Maryland Eastern Shore criminology senior spent his summer working in Sen. Barack Obama’s, D-Ill., congressional office in Washington.
