Howard Alumnus David Oliver Advances to Semifinals of 110m Hurdles at Beijing Olympics
Wednesday’s Semifinal Startlist
BEIJING, CHINA
- Howard alumnus David Oliver is still on track to
accomplish his goal of winning an Olympic medal. On Tuesday (August
19) he moved through the quarterfinals of the 110m hurdles at the
Games of the XXIX Olympiad.
The four-time MEAC Champion in the event, Oliver opened his
first Olympics with a time of 13.31 in the opening round on Monday.
One day later he returned to post a time of 13.16, the best among
the four heats and the fastest during the summer games.
He’ll compete in the second heat of Wednesday’s 110m hurdle
semifinals at 9:30 p.m. (EST). The top four finishers in each heat
advance to the finals at 9:45 p.m. (EST) on Thursday.
