Women’s Soccer Wins 9-0 Over Columbia Union
WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Howard women’s soccer
team got off to a good start in preseason action, picking up a 9-0
shutout win over Columbia Union College at Greene Stadium.
Offensively, the Bison had a solid outing, as Rachael
Lee led the way with four goals and Natalie
Williston fired three. Stephanie McLean and Megan Nick picked
up one goal apiece.
Williston and Nick also finished with two assists each while
McLean, Elizabeth McDaniel and Samantha Cunningham each added one.
On the defensive end, the line preserved the shutout and
limited Columbia Union’s scoring chances. In
goal, senior Jessamyn Perkins and
freshman Beatrice Charles split duties and combined for
the shutout.
Howard will officially open up the 2008 campaign
on Friday when it welcomes VMI to Greene Stadium at
7 p.m.
