Totten Pleased with Progress So Far
Itta Bena, Miss.— Two weeks and one scrimmage into their 2008 campMississippi Valley State head football coach Willie Totten is very pleased with the progress his young group has made thus far.
€œWe still have a long way to go. We are getting consistency out of our quarterbacks and the guys are continuing to work hard,€? Tottens said. €œBut overall we are looking very good as a team. Everyone is cheering each other on, running to the ball and having a great attitudes.
Despite alternating days of intense heat and pouring rains the Delta Devils have remained focused at the task at hand as Totten€™s immediate goal is to get them believing in the philosophy of now.
€œI€™m trying to get the guys to understand that the only thing we can control is right here, right now,€? Totten added. €œWe have to forget about yesterday and not worry about tomorrow.€?
The Delta Devils will hit the field again tomorrow morning as they hold their second scrimmage at 10 a.m. in Rice-Totten Stadium.
Valley will host its season opener August 30th when they face the Steers of Texas College.
