Itta Bena, Miss.— The Mississippi Valley State Devilettes soccer team led all teams with total members on the 2008 Preseason All-SWAC soccer team as announced recently by the conference media relations office.

Although the Devilettes did not claim either of the top two individual awards a senior led crew combined for a total of five members on either first or second team.

Named to the All-SWAC preseason first team were Dana Eddy (5-5, Sr., M, Calgary, Alberta) and Ashley Bailey (5-9, Sr., D, London, OntarioCanada). While named to the second team were Kate Johnston (5-6, Sr., M, London, OntarioCanada), Mikael Mendez (5-7, Jr., F, Fort Worth, TX) and Pella Hand (5-7, Sr., F, El Segundo, CA).

The Devilettes were predicted to finish third again in the Southwestern Athletic Conference€™s eastern division in the preseason poll as voted on by conference coaches and medias relations directors.
