Men’s Basketball Signs Chris McHenry to National Letter of Intent
WASHINGTON, D.C. -
Howard head men’s basketball coach Gil Jackson announced the
signing of Chris McHenry to a national letter of intent to join the
Bison for the 2008-09 season. McHenry, a 5-11 point guard from
Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is the second signee for Jackson’s squad, in
addition to guard Calvin Thompson (Harvey, La./Helen Cox HS).
Assistant men’s basketball coach
James Wilhelmi, who is a former Madison La Follette and
Wisconsin-Whitewater athlete, played a big role in the
recruitment of Henry.
Currently ranked No. 11 among state
players in the class of 2008 by Wishoops.net, McHenry is a quick
and skilled combination guard who earned first-team all-league
honors in the Milwaukee City Conference as a senior.
McHenry played for
coach Gary DePerry at Milwaukee Bradley Tech and averaged
16.9 points per game as a senior in 2007-08. McHenry helped
Bradley Tech to an 8-4 finish in the City Conference and a 15-7
record in all games.
