Former Soccer Star Emile Innocent Playing for Haitian National Team
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Former Howard University
Men’s Soccer star, Emile Innocent, has been selected to participate
in the training camp for the Haitian National team in Port St.
Lucie, Florida.
The team recently participated in its first scrimmage and
won, 5-1, against a local team in Orlando. Innocent played the
entire match and the coach was impressed with his performance. The
team is currently in preparation for the third round of the
CONCACAF World Cup Qualifier.
The Haitian national team is most famously known as the first
Caribbean country to qualify for the World Cup in 1974.
Currently, they have earned placement in Group C, where they will
face countries like Costa Rica, Suriname and El Salvador.
