Bison Announce 2008 Men’s Soccer Schedule
WASHINGTON, D.C. -
Six home dates and an early-season west coast tournament highlight
the 2008 Howard men’s soccer schedule. The Bison are coming off a
2007 campaign in which HU earned its first ranking in a Division I
poll in nearly a decade.
Howard opens its season with
the annual D.C. Cup when it faces off with host American
University on August 29 at 5 p.m. The Bison will match up
with George Washington in the finale on August 31 at noon.
The following weekend the squad will make a trip to
the west coast, where they will meet up with Oregon
State (Sept. 5) and Seattle (Sept. 7) in the Hensor/Zaher
Memorial Diadora Classic. HU will take on Mercer (Sept. 13) and
Alabama A&M (Sept. 14) in its second tournament of the year in
Macon, Ga.
The Bison will make its home debut on Sept. 17 with a
non-conference contest against Mount St. Mary’s at 7:30 pm. Three
days later, Howard will host Liberty on Sept. 20 at 7 pm.
HU plays in its third tournament on Oct. 3-4, kicking
off competition in the Country Inn & Suites Homecoming
Classic on Friday against Missouri State at 5 pm. Howard
closes out the weekend action on Saturday with host Bradley at 7:30
pm.
The Bison will face NJIT in its conference opener
on Oct. 25 and wraps up its regular season on Nov. 8
against league foe Adelphi University.
