HAMPTON, Va. — The Hampton University athletic department will hold its annual “Meet the Pirates” media day and football clinic on Saturday, Aug. 9, 2008, at 1 p.m. The event will feature the 2008 Pirates football team. This event will take place at the practice field behind Armstrong Stadium on Hampton University’s campus.

All local media are invited to attend, as well as local youth ministries, youth teams and alumni and boosters, and participants are encouraged to take pictures and interview players. Be mindful, though, that all interviews must be scheduled in advance.

Immediately following team photos, the Hampton coaching staff and players will conduct a mini football clinic. The clinic will include one-on-one instruction and techniques for children of all ages. Admission is free.

All media in attendance will receive a gift basket, compliments of the Hampton University athletic department. This basket will be hampton’s way of thanking you for your attendance and participation in helping kick off another exciting year of Pirate athletics.
