MCCORORY QUALIFIES FOR 400 FINALS IN NACAC

TOLUCA, Mexico – Hampton University junior Francena McCorory qualified for the finals of the 400-meter dash at the NACAC Under-23 Championships in Mexico over this past weekend, finishing seventh in the preliminary round.

McCorory’s time of 53.51 was good enough for her to advance to the finals, though a hamstring cramp prevented McCorory (Hampton, Va.) from running.

Jamaica’s Bobbi-Gaye Wilkins won the 400-meter dash with a time of 51.34.

McCorory, a sophomore, won both the 200- and 400-meter dash in the Morgan State Legacy Meet April 18-19. She also finished seventh in the 200-meter dash at the MEAC Outdoor Championships with a 24.35 before winning the 400-meter dash in 51.54.
